It’s pitch dark out out here, but the Delaware is a nice jaunt during the day. Who knew we had a couple of forts along Delaware? Why can’t we pull up to the Philadelphia Eagles stadium or the Philadelphia Union arena on the boat?

Our trip today so far can be seen in the SPOT screen capture...

Our trip today so far can be seen in the SPOT screen capture above. I have to say I wish we were home and my rear end is a little sore, but we are being careful at 10 knots through Delaware Bay. We should hopefully be in port by 1030 pm and in our home by midnight after some light cleanup. Liberty Cab, hopefully you hear from us soon!

Purple blobs denote radar overlay on normal nav chart. Thank goodness the Delaware is not high traffic at this time of night or this time of year. With our equipment we can also overlay radar on top of a normal chart, as on the left denotes by pinkish/purple marks (may be hard to see).

Before stopping in Cape May, starboard engine could not get past...

Before stopping in Cape May, starboard engine could not get past 1800. Once docked for fuel, Jo changed the primary fuel filter as a first step and we restarted engine. Engines sounded rough at first, most likely due to air, but now all sounds and handles normally. Let’s see once we can up to 2000, if we get full throttle power in stbd engine or not. Either way, we dodged a bullet. The cat needs food!

Pausing trip in Cape May a bit. Nice marina but docks are a bit dirty this time of year! Pleasant night and we’re heady to head to our home port of Philadelphia. More seas like yesterday expected in the Atlantic but should smooth out once we hit Delaware Bay. MV Thorvy has been a champ through the conditions of the last few days. Fantastic and safe vessel.
